Electrifying Milestone

200+ FUSO eCanter in daily customer operations around the globe.

It has been three years since the introduction of Daimler Trucks electric light-duty FUSO eCanter range. Since then, customers in eleven countries around the world have purchased them for their fleets, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki and Lisbon. Deliveries have now passed the milestone of 200 vehicles with more to follow.

With its initial launch, the eCanter marked itself as the leader in electric trucks offering sustainable, CO2-neutral transport. The combined fleet has now driven a combined 3 million kilometres, all emission-free, this is equivalent to 75 circumnavigations around the world! Of the 200+ that have been sold so far 60 are based in Japan, 40 in the US and another 100+ in Europe.

The eCanter weighs 7.49 tons and has a driving range of just over 100 kilometres with a payload of up to 4.15 tons. Whilst this range might seem small it is perfectly suited for urban delivery purposes where an electric powertrain operates at a much higher efficiency than comparable combustion engine alternatives. Typical uses for this type of vehicle are based around short-radius deliveries such as packaged goods, e-commerce orders, post or even beverage and industrial gas transportation.  European customers include popular companies such as PostNL, Dachse, Deutsche Post DHL, Rhenus Group and DB Schenker.

Daimler Trucks has committed itself to move the commercial vehicle industry into the future with zero-emission technology and as a pioneer of electric trucks, Fuso has seated itself as a pioneer in this segment globally. The eCanter represents one of the first steps in achieving carbon-neutral transportation around the world.
